Black on Red, too....

Nice car for sure, and there couldn't have been too many ordered with the 340hp 348 and 4-speed, but $105k?

First '61 I've ever seen with a VIN stamped on the block.
It would probably sell for that at BJ because it has all the candy.

Seems awfully early to me too, especially one done with a gang stamp. Most of the earlier cars I have seen with VIN stamps on the block were pretty haphazardly stamped.

Chevy didn't direct the plants to start doing that until '62. Corvettes started in '61.

Touted as a $100K restoration but there’s an awful amount of wrongness going on there and that price is in the arena of ‘62 409 Bel Airs which is a FAR more desirable car. Looks like the rear axle has recently been worked on too probably from breaking a carrier cap being loaded/unloaded into an enclosed trailer.

Relisted with a $92,500 buy-it-now in the link below.

I agree that the '62 bubbletops are more desirable, but for me, the '61 Bel Air was the ultimate expression of perfect 1960s GM styling...the absolute high-water mark. To be fair, any of the '61-62s with that roof are drop-dead gorgeous....
