Awesome Mike. That plane gets up and goes... minus the fuel and bombs. Wish I could have been on it. Phil

Could you imagine the view from that position when the formation was "walking on flak" over target?

With the 88 Flak 36 pounding away from the ground.....

It was here all weekend, only $450.00 BUX. Maybe next year ?

I have heard people complain about the cost to go on one of these rides. $450 is a once in a lifetime opportunity to ride in one of these beautiful airplanes and in a few short years we may not be able to go for rides due to insurance. The fuel and oil consumption alone is about $3000 per hour in one of these planes and I think there are 7 or 8 paying passengers so it barely covers the fuel and oil costs. I am guilty of passing up on a ride myself but will be doing it the next opportunity that presents itself.

Maybe next year Mike. Yesterday, my front windshield in the 737 developed multiple cracks at 34000 feet on my way to San Jose, CA. We descended and slowed down fairly quickly, landed uneventfully. Watching the B-17 video looking through, I'm guessing plexiglass, there isn't much protection from birds or flack (from back in the day). I still admire the adversity these crew members went through to accomplish their missions back then.
