Looking to purchase a scanner for my son and I to use. With six cars in my household I get a few check engine lights coming on. Plus I think my son(18yrs) would like using it. Don't want to cheap out so looking to spend around $200-$250 if possible. What's everyone using? Thanks, Mark

I have a scanner that bluetooths to my phone and runs through apps you download. It works great and is only limited by the app you choose.

I've been using this one for years. I use it along with the TorquePRO app (Android). You can read/clear codes, view sensor readings including engine vacuum, temp, rpm, o2 voltages etc. You can even use it to display a set of custom digital gauges on your phone while driving.

I used to do a lot of mechanic work in college on modern cars. Diagnosis, timing belts, fuel injection systems etc. Having this on me and my phone allowed me to diagnose most problems without using an expensive scanner.

For example, you could graph O2 voltages and instantly diagnose a bad O2 sensor vs catalytic converter.

Feel free to PM me with any mechanical questions.

Thanks Jose.. I bought the blue driver over the weekend. Already cleared up an ABS problem. Very easy to use. I may take you up on that offer thanks. Mark
