I wasn't sure how credible the Fuel car claim is, but then I found this interesting letter issued by GM referencing this car as a candidate for some fuel injection repairs:

Anyway, it's not exactly a protectoplate but pretty cool documentation nonetheless. I wish the paint was a little better preserved...but there aren't many of these cars left with period paint....

Man, realistically, what’s a good price for this? I really dig it!

Love the factory color combo, but man it’ll take a whole catalog to get it back stock and pretty!

I'd say this car has bid to the maximum it should sell for now ($25,000). It says 71 350, so the engine is gone.

----Someone mounted the fuelie emblems about 3 inches forward from where they should be.....Bill S

Thanks for the thoughts, Tim. I messaged the seller and he says he’s open to offers. Pictures stink, lighting is bad, angles and point of focus look as though the car is photoed as an afterthought. Still intriguing to me!

Probably installed wrong when they repainted the car. I bet they filled the holes and forgot where to original holes were after it was painted?

Cheers

----Dave,,,If you wanted it back even semi-stock there are things either missing or ruined that would cost a bunch. With that said, the bones actually don't look horrible. Frame appears solid and it does have the high red-line tach although badly faded.....Bill S

Any filled holes would be visible from inside the engine compartment, back side of panel. Get a shot of the rad support driver's side to look for the F.I. air cleaner "S" tube opening.

I agree with Tim on value.

Seller ended the auction since he decided to not part with the car. I know all the FI parts weren’t there, but black with red guts, a Fuelie, and a 63 convert I think would have been great combo and a worthy candidate of some Super Dave magic!:burnout:

Cheers:beers:
