I picked this up this week it is a 1970 442 pace car. I really do not know much about these and I have not been able to find a registry for them. Does any one know of a registry or what would be the Oldsmobile forum to join. I am really not sure what I am going to do with it yet
need to do some research.Thanks

There were some 4 speeds but no W30.

The two track cars in 1970 weren't badged W-30, however, they included W-30 parts such as the OW trans, F heads, W-455 intake, etc.

Are you located in West Chicago? I'm in Naperville. Your car looks pretty solid.

Kevin Coffey "manages" a registry for the 1970 pace cars. There's also a list floating around with the VINs of the track cars if you think your car was at Indy. I have a copy of the list saved on my PC if you need it.

Best of luck with the restoration.

There was a 4-speed Supreme (I think it was a Supreme...) "pace car" that was built much later than the bulk of the track cars. I believe it even had GM of Canada docs. The car passed through Mecum maybe 4-5 years ago.

Yes I am in West Chicago, It really is a very solid car and has already been painted but some assembly required. I am still debating weather I am going to put it together or sell it as is.
I was told it is number 68 of the pace cars and have no idea if it was a track car. The vin is 344670M296293 if you can look it up on your list I would appreciate it.

Where does Kevin Coffey "manage" his registry? Here's my 1970 Olds Pace Car, still wearing some original paint on the doors, etc. This car was ordered by the owner of the H-L Olds dealership in Staten Island, NY, and delivered with a black convertible top (apparently most had white tops?).

I misspoke. The man's name is Keith Coffey. His email address is [email protected]. PM me if you'd like his call.

SSL78’s Pace Car is a 442, so I assume you’re asking me about mine... it’s a 350.

Mine is a 455. I wrote to Keith and this was his response.

Hey John
Bad news I have nothing on your car as this is the first time it has surfaced for me
Good news is track car 101 used in the Press Pool at the track
