Its not really my thing now, but when I was 12 (in 1981 or so) I would have been all over this 442. Actually, I could still be into it, just swapping out the air shocks and doing the equivalent of L60's on 8" rims instead of N50's on 10's:) https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1968-oldsmobile-442-14/. Update: And now there's hot rod 442s springing up everywhere on BaT! This '67 4 speed with Centerline style mags (but original spare!) and paperwork is less than an hour from me...https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1967-oldsmobile-442-8/

Back in 72, I owned a 68 442 (for all of 3 weeks ) and it came with Cragars all around, 15x10's on the back with L60's. Sold it when I bought a 70 Z28 and kept the Cragars to put on the Z28 with air shocks. Going to the stock car races one Saturday night, the plastic air shock line came in contact with an exhaust pipe and the body of the Z came down on top of the tires :eek2: Had to walk to a farm house and call my brother to throw two of the stock tires & wheels from the Z into the trunk of his 72 VW Bug and bring them out to me. That was the last time those Cragars and tires were on the Z28.

That thing is so SWEEET... it's just so NASTY looking... :burnout:
I may be just a little biased... After my birth in 72, I came home from the hospital in a White over blue 68 442 -

Bill! (427TJ)-you should buy this '67 down in Lacey. I'll help find the correct rims, you find the wheel covers:)

Wire wheelcovers so it throws off the purists!

I put a bid in on the '68 (didn't win). I told my buddy in CA that we were Joe Dirt-ing it all the way up to Seattle together if I won. He asked if we needed to grow mullets, I told him we buy some weaves if necessary.
