Prior to messing up a good set of wheels I thought I would ask for suggestions on how to proceed. I am trying to get rid of some pits and other imperfections in the outer rim area of the wheel. The centers are easy as they get painted.
Attached are a couple of pictures of what I am trying to correct. The area I where the pits are will be natural aluminum. This area will NOT be polished aluminum. I am trying to get to a brushed aluminum finish. The brushed finish is the original finish on the wheels so that is what I am trying to get back to. Also the brushed finish should be more forgiving of any imperfections in the wheel, so that is a plus. Any suggestions on how to get rid of the flaws? Also not opposed to just sending them to someone who knows what they are doing, if you have someone to suggest. Thanks!
