You are looking at a rare opportunity to make your 69 Camaro Z/28 numbers matching. This is an original, complete, numbers matching 69 DZ 302 engine. This engine was removed from a 55 Chevy that recently surfaced at a storage unit auction. The 55 was built in the 70s. This engine was most likely pulled from a wrecked Z back in the day. HEADS > cast # 3928186, cast date E169 (May 16, 1969 for 69 model year).
VIN# > appears to be 19N053487 or 19N?53487 or 19N058487
INTAKE > cast # 3932472
CARBURETOR > # 3923289-DZ LIST-4053, date 942 (2nd week of April) of 1969 for 69 model year)
DISTRIBUTOR > 1111480, date 8L4 (Dec. 4, 1968 for 69 model year)
While the dates on the distributor are a little early for a May dated engine, I am confident this were born with the engine. This 55 Chevy was parked in the 70s and what are the chances the distributor was replaced with numbers matching components 40+ years ago. The engine turns over by hand. The Bores are standard and the original pistons look great. Crank was checked and everything is still STD with the original 69 dated bearings. It is being sold as a core for rebuild.
