Looks like a fairly unmolested car...has the dealer order form and POP...nice to have factory air, too.

Already bid over $30k. I like patina, but that’s a lotta patina.

----One of my favorite odd ball color combo's. Car has taken a hit towards the drivers front end. Wrong radiator (fairly costly to replace) but it won't matter much if the decision is made to do a body off. Would be stunning done, but that's probably about $60,000 if you don't do it yourself.....Bill S

Judging by the date and miles listed, isn't that invoice when the Vette was resold as a one year old used car??

My cousin has a twin to this '65, ordered it new, also maroon/maroon 300/4 speed, but no A/C. Today it is nice 100% original paint and interior, about 80K miles.
Has the original invoice, POP, and W/S.

He let me drive the Vette, I was age 15, the odometer showed 416 miles. I remember it like it was last week.

What do you guys think about the value, this car is everything I like in a mid- year, 327, 4 sp, A/C coupe, color combo and close to home. My thought is its to pricey.

Thanks Gregg

Much depends on the condition of the chassis. McAllen is in the very southern tip of Texas, but I've seen South Texas cars with rust issues if they were costal cars kept on Padre Island and that's not far from McAllen. I looked at a real rust bucket 1965 Corvette from South Texas and the frame was eventually replaced.

Great documents! Clark Chevrolet is still in business in McAllen. One of the few way back dealers left in this area as most other dealers are Mega Branch Superstores. Not too many Vettes sold in this predominantly agricultural area. I’m sure this was a looker back in the day! Rust is not exempt in this area. We don’t salt roads and I don’t believe we had any recordable snow here in the 60’s but the salty, humid, Gulf Coast air will take a toll on the vintage metal. Even 80 miles inland. Tin worm never sleeps.

I used to drive from Chicago to McAllen Tx. every February from 1983-1990.My Grandparents lived there & it took me 2 & 1/2 days with 2 hotel stops in between.I'd stop to sleep in Texarkana and Alice.
Long Drive...

McAllen is a wonderful town, I started going there when I was transferred to Texas in 1982 and I loved the Valley. I was there every month until I retired two years ago. I still miss the old Valley and its laid back lifestyle.
