Purple 70 Cuda 440 4-speed

I stumbled across this cool project on Facebook marketplace. It was built the day before my purple 340 shaker cuda. (I wonder if they built them in color batches?).

only 334 made - (almost 3x rarer than a 6bbl 4 speed cuda: 902 built)

Looks rust free underneath (he posted some underside videos) but needs a trunk floor according to the ad.

No, its a bit overpriced seeing it doesn't have its original 375 horse 4 bbl engine. It's a relatively common engine so it wouldn't be that hard to find a date code correct one

Maybe 20 to 25 depending on how nice the underside it. The video he posted on facebook showed it was nice, dry and dusty underneath. These cars are notorious for pooling water in the trunk so it is understandable that the trunk floor is gone. The engine compartment looks good - no rust by the hinges or the cowl which are the other rust prone spots.

Needs the entire interior including a new dashpad. It's a manual steering and manual drum brake car with a 3.54 Dana (Track Pak) and A833 four-speed. And the purple adds a lot to the value.

It's one of those rare, but not necessarily worth more because of it, situations. A comparable 440-6bbl car in the same conditon would be worth the asking price. Those Six Packs get all the attention.

Here's the fender tag decoded: it came with an AM-8 Track, (looks like it's still present in the photos) a center console, and 1970 style narrow chrome racing mirrors (the one's in the photos are later, large oval 1971+ mirrors), otherwise it's a sibling to my car (minus the engine/shaker).

I made contact with this seller before he bought this car but knew about it and he was trying to buy it and sell it to me along with other Mopars. The PO was out of TN and had a lot of nice Mopars. As I recall, the car is fairly rusty more so than the pictures. I looked through my texts and I don't have any dialogue left but his name is Gus. As I recall, he seems to be straight up guy just did not want a car in this condition. I ultimately found my partial original paint B5 AAR so am happy.

I dont know why he seems to be stuck on that really high $37K asking price. It's not like he doesn't know their actual value since he just sold a really nice driver 70 R/T-SE 383 auto/A/C Challenger for $37K. That car was worth the 37K, this Cuda is nowhere near that price range in current value.
