My neighbor sold his summer home and is on the prowl for an old car, and sent me this one earlier today asking for feedback. Clearly there's not enough info in the pics for an accurate appraisal...but reading between the lines it sounds as though the engine isn't the original one it left Norwood with. Also hate to see a car sold with no radio, and the wires just hanging behind the dash. On the plus side, the front bumper does fit like an original VE3, so that's a nice touch.

I already recommended to him that he pass unless it can be had for significantly less than the $62k ask, and to assume it isn't an original RS unless someone can lay eyes on it in person and look for the signs. What do you guys believe it's worth, just out of personal curiosity?

Typical ad these days. No pics of anything important-body and VIN tags, drive train stampings. It has had a lot of work, hate the tires. Very few built with tilt wheel, speed warning, NK3 wheel. Looks put together; rear stripes incorrect, missing clock, 15 x 8s out back.

First thing I look at are the tags. If they have been messed with, look no further.

I agree with your advice.
