What do you think of this one...
Is this a good modification to the engine...Stroked to 385?

Seems like it doesn’t have any original paperwork? Whether or not it’s a real Z will have a big impact on price. To that end, I would ask for photos of the Muncie and rear axle stamps. The pace-car style hugger orange stripes look sharp. Most of the mods are not for me but are bolt-on so can always revert. I can’t speak from experience on the stroker but I would guess all the new bottom-end torque will make the DZ more fun from a stoplight...

Gack....

Not my cup of Joe at all. Some people should just leave cars alone.

I agree with you there, but look, the steering wheel matches the wheels...

I stopped judging people on taste in cars and realized it’s just another person in the hobby. If those mods bring them joy, so be it, even if it ain’t for me. And for bolt-ons, you can always unbolt that stuff! First gen Zs are a great example where some folks want patina survivors, some want factory-fresh (and don’t even like dealer add-ons), some love day-2 and some go full custom. To each their own, it’s just somebody else who loves their Camaro that makes ‘em happy in an ugly world... :gets off soap box and grabs beer:

More info from the ad
:This vehicle does NOT have the original engine, but does have a 1969 DZ block from Los Angeles, California. The numbers on the block are visible/preserved: #8L502333 V091DZ and dated Sept. of 1969. This is a 302 "stroked" to 385 cubic inches. It has 186 cylinder heads with Comp Cam solid lifters. Intake manifold is original with a DZ carburetor remake. The exhaust headers are powder coated. Don't worry, it has power steering to make life easier -but NO A/C for those hot days.Transmission:Installed is a TKO 600 5-speed manual transmission with Dual Force clutch. The owner has the original, numbers match, M-22 Muncie "Rock Crusher" transmission to go with the vehicle: ID #19L517657 (Same as last part of VIN#); P9T17C (Dec. 17, 1969 "Rock Crusher")

That car has a serious identity crisis. Without a build sheet or the original motor, no way to know what it started life as.

The M22 was only available with a Z/28 or L78 (or an L72 COPO). So if the vin partial is legit then this is almost certainly a real Z.

Thank you everyone for your input.
Seems like a risky move for 60k for me with the advice/info discovered.
Thank you Yenko.net family!

I agree... if it is legit.

Legit or not the car has a lot of stuff that would need correcting, and that list is very long.

Not worth anywhere near the asking price IMO. Not even close.
