Have a local friend with what might be a 1968 Z/28. He's owned a bunch of Camaros over the years, older, so not necessarily his first rodeo.

15" tire sticker in glove box, has a 12 bolt in there. Are there any codes that might be on suspension parts to help him?

Orig engine and trans are gone.

I would say look for a BU, BV, BO or BW rear - that covers most of the usual Z ratios. Also, check for disc brakes and a speedometer cable exiting the firewall near the distributor.

Also - check for evidence of rear bumper guards, 6000rpm tach if so equipped, and a three row radiator with “UH” code.

Yes, the small block spring tags will be different than big blocks if they are still there / visible. While the 15" tire sticker is a good clue I have seen non Z28s with that sticker.

Also, I have found remnants of the white / black stripe paint on top of the original paint under the wiper cowl.

I have a 48k mile 68 in my possession right now that is relatively unrestored. If you like pics or have questions, just PM me.

If it has production line dated fenders that have only been drilled once for the Z28 emblem. This is an 04D car with fenders dated the 11th and 15th week of 1968

Z/28 has 4 leaf at rear. Y55 battery original so look for signs the negative wire off the negative battery cable was grounded to radiator support since it had reverse polarity.
Many times an engine is changed other original parts remained so check alternator, carb, etc.... power booster and disc brakes up front?
