One family owned and complete with the original POP. Can't remember the last time I saw a GP ordered with manual steering - pretty incredible muscle car here!

Almost comical how much room there is underhood without A/C and P/S.

Grant - Would the Axle-sp-ord option be 3.90 gears? Really like this car!

Oops - just saw the 3.23 in the ad, my bad.

A rare platform on which to build a go fast only set up. Surprised it has a a semi dead gear in it

My guess is this was a high-speed highway cruiser (no PS and 3.23) that had the speedo pegged often. At least that is what I would like to think :)

I did see it on eBay last night. It's a Bad-Ass GP!!

It belongs to a friend of mine, his Dad ordered it new. If I remember correctly, the car spent one year in IL before moving the family to AZ.

A 3.55 HD rear would have been standard with the HO 4-speed. The 3.90 would require the M21 close ratio trans, only 22 of those cars were built.

That's exactly what my friend Bob said, his Dad wanted the taller gear for highway driving.

Car was very solid being in AZ all but most of the first year. They moved to AZ in Oct of 1969. Of course the interior was baked. Just Dashes is the only place that can remold these interior pieces and it was expensive!!

Hi... I'm thinking it's pretty rare!! In Canada, I've only seen one 4 spd car. Should go for big money. When was the last time you saw a 4 spd for sale?? End of story...!

Yep that makes sense. I most likely have pics from there, too...:headbang:

----What a great GP! So very rare to see one ordered this way. Of course, I love the color as my SJ is this color. Burnished Brown for the Chevy guys. Absolutely only my opinion, but Grand Prix's of any color just look better with a vinyl top. A beautiful restoration in every way as well. Grant may back me up on this but if this GP was an automatic it would be worth as much as 20 thou less. I have seen that kind of spread between 4-speeds and autos. I would be very surprised if this GP didn't hit somewhere between $50,000 and $60,000 especially in this spendy period.....Bill S

Bill... I agree on the price spread between auto & 4-speed HO cars. 986 autos were built compared to 116 total 4-speed cars (94 wide ratio / 22 close ratio w/3.90 gear).

The Red '70 SJ 455 4-speed that Charley & I owned keeps going up every time it sells. It's now for sale at $75K!! This '69 HO 4-speed is a far better car, not to mention rarer and more desirable.

----Had a chance to buy that red GP from the owner who went crazy from Illinois. Wonder what happened to that guy? Owned a bunch of nice cars but the bank got them all.....Bill S

Dave Simpson... Don't know if it's true, but I heard that Reggie bought it when his cars went up for auction. The car still wore my personalized CA plates that I ordered for it. Once again, this car was misrepresented as being a low mileage original.

----Grant,,,I felt that the mileage looked correct when I saw it back then. How much restoration did you guys do to bring the car to the level we see now?.....Bill S

Grant painted it and I think repaired rust around the rear window. He also did the interior. I rebuilt the engine.
