Neat car in a cool color combo, but we need way more info to determine if it was born with the L-79 option....

Not much of a Chevy II guy, but that is the only model I would buy...Aztec Bronze SS with 4 speed. The L79 doesn't mean much to me but, apparently, he is looking to retire on the sale.
As Tony said, need more info and especially pics of the common rust areas. Being a Nevada car should be clean, but the proof is in the pics.
"Only sell to knowledgeable L-79 enthusiast, no parts for sale. Honest list of every part of the car available via email request. Serious L-79 buyer only."
Might be attempting to keep it from an LS swap. Good luck with that. Price doesn't seem to stop that anymore.

Need pics of the block stamping and date codes, trans and rear (12 bolt) to really determine an L79 car. Should have a single 3/8" fuel line also.

Anybody see the 3 L79 Nova's cross the block early afternoon Saturday? All 3 brought over 100K and the first one sold for 170K I think. I had no idea these brought that kind of money.

Indeed they do when they are verified and authenticated and restored to factory spec. I sold a Lemonwood Yellow 66 Nova L-79 that met that criteria $$$$$$$

Those three at Mecum were all 67's, which makes them very rare and usually more valuable than 66's, I believe.

Contacted the seller to send me shots of the engine and trans stamps, and rear end but no response, now it is no longer available......strange.

This car is no different than a half dozen 66 4sp Nova's I've owned, that were raced, without the original engine. The only way to know if it's a l-79 - need real paperwork, or orig. engine with unique stamping. There were a ton of these 275hp WRN plant built Nova's out here. Someone bit on his claim.

This time it does have engine stamping picture, but I have no idea if it's legit or not.

Stamp pics are in the eBay ad. What do you experts think about them?

I have seen some pretty ugly partial VIN stamps on other ‘66 Chevys - dug through my files and didn’t have anything close to compare to, unfortunately.

The pad is not exactly like the couple l-79's I found sitting since 1970 and earlier, but similar enough to say it's real. There's an old thread on this site regarding a L-79 wagon that was on Ebay, and the picture posted of the stamping was dead-on like the two I owned.

Re-flip ??? With the elimination of all the hype and gruff talk, I wonder if it didn't get sold and the new owner knows he may be able to profit from a better description, pictures and information ?
