Does anyone know if there is an aftermarket oil shield to install on a BB intake or in the galley to keep oil off the bottom of the intake?

Moroso makes a tray to go in the valley. https://www.moroso.com/lifter-valley-oil-baffle25100/

Chevy engineered a nice intake oil splash pan for the L-88, ZL-1 427 engines. Designed to keep the hot oil off the bottom of the intake itself. Used one on my car. Still can find these on ebay or elsewhere.

The GM shield is part number 3931093. Discontinued from Chevrolet but show up for sale now and then.

Hi...Thanks guys!! I thought maybe there was something that would mount on the manifold. Wasn't thinking of just mounting it in the valley....

Some days its tough getting old... I was thinking the glass was half empty, when it was half full...LOL

I know how you feel. Yes these just snap in place and have tabs on both sides. You will see thru the pictures when you find one. Good luck.

Is this 12555320 the same as the 3931093 with a different part number? https://www.ebay.com/itm/333933289451?epid=3013442738&hash=item4dbff99feb:g:yPgAAOSwcL5gXAon
The Moroso part will keep the lifter in the bore if a pushrod or rocker arm fails.

I believe the two GM part numbers are basically the same, with just a slightly different cut on the ends. The GM pieces are held in place by tabs on the shield that rest on the intake side of the heads. Once the intake is bolted in place they ain't going nowhere.

I found these today and bought them. If it wasn't for this thread I wouldn't have known what they were.

I used this GM intake oil splash shield on my 468 Chevy BB on the strip. These were great and another outstanding engineering idea by Duntov and Chevy. Used on the L-88 427-ZL-1 427 BB engines.

Great you found these. Yes this Super Car Registry is a solid site and very educational. I learned plenty from guys on here and asked questions. Mr Nickey Nova Mark has been a huge help to me and Rich the Chevy bolt and nut seller also.

I found these on a shelf in a building where I was looking at a ZL1 engine to buy. I didn't buy the ZL1, but I did get quite a few other things.
