Original owner, all original 4 speed Z-28. California car always, worst part has an off white vinyl top. It belongs to a buddy who needs to get rid of it, not for money reasons. I just don't have a clue what it's worth. IT's been in nice garage and not driven for a long time.

Do you have any pictures? I would say $25k in mint condition and work backwards from there.

No pictures, it's not mint condition, just original car that needs a good clean up.

I do personally own one of these. Condition and originality really matter on these.
$25,000 is a good starting point

Runs and drives great. I would think it's fairly rare 4 speed with a/c and colors are nice. 783 Tupe interior. 64 paint code silver with a code W silver vinyl roof

Depends a whole lot on condition. No pictures makes it hard to even put a ballpark out there!
Original paint? Original drivetrain? Rust?
I'd love to get my hands on a survivor '74 Z but doubt I can afford this one!

LT trim. Never seen a silver vinyl top before. Needs cleanup and a few things corrected.
Im going to say its in the $20-$25K range?

Top is code w. I couldn't find it on Camaro sights and found it on a Chevelle sight. I've decided i don't want to buy it so going to help my buddy sell it as he's 80 and in poor health

Very unusual combo, but looks like a great survivor!
I looked up the specs in my '74 Salesman Album and you can see them below.
If the car is all original as it appears this is my best guess --
64 paint code (Silver), WW Vinyl Roof (Silver Taupe - Only available with code 64 paint), B carpet code (it looks to be black) and XT interior trim code (Type LT specific)

Wow what a GREAT car... triple silver looks killer!
Neat that in 74 you could get the graphics(stripes) with LT.

They have been added or the fender emblems added.
You could only get one or the other.
Fender emblems - No stripes
Stripes - No fender emblems
Stripes were optional. Still a very nice car

Those "emblems" on the fender actually look like a decal that could've been put on the tail pan of a non stripe car. Take a close look, they look flat to me. Maybe my eyes are playing games??

You know, I think you are right, they are decals.

Yes I thought they were decals as well because they had no depth to them. The spoiler Z28 switched to a decal in 72ish which is what is on the fenders

Opinions please, is an original car like this worth more, less or the same as a restored example?

I would say, generally speaking, it's worth less than a restored-to-perfection example. But again, generally speaking, you would have a different buyer demographic for the two types of car (restored or original).
Was this car ever sold 2 years ago?

I really like the underappreciated '74's. Other than the vinyl top and AC it's how I would have ordered one new. Highly doubt there's another out there in this color combo.

1974 Z-28 still had a strong 350 with all the good internals, forged crank, rods, pistons, 4 bolt mains. The cam, intake and carb were the killers but it was a strong runner for that smog engine time. I bought a new 78 Z-28 4 Speed back in the day with 3.73 gears posi trac, but the smog engine was nothing special. Wished i would of bought the 3, 69 Z-28 Camaros i looked at back in the 70s. Very nice Z-28 for sure here.

There only original once! So I think an NICE all original survivor car should be worth more then a restored car that could be hiding some major issues, or poor craftsmanship?
BUT that being said, my all original survivor 1978 Z28 has had issues when I did advertise it. People say they can get one with fresh body and paint, or built motor for less?

It appears to still have the original 1974 only grille which is virtually impossible to find.

My meager take on these camaros, having never owned a camaro......back when I was gluing Monogram and AMT models together in the 70's, they had 0 inventory at the local 88cent store that I hadn't had my mitts on, so I reluctantly bought a '74 camaro red/white/blue edition or something like that. I set it up the way I normally would, with a bit of rake and rear tires that would scrape in real life. It was a ho hum build lol....but it slowly grew on me for reasons I never knew until years later. The '74 for me, represents the last of an era, small rear window, and still had some guts. Add all that and realize in today's market they just don't exist, well that just makes me want it even more.
