Beautiful car, but I'm intrigued by the ultra clean stamps and crisp trim tag. Rear axle looks to have been restamped...too tough for me to draw any conclusions on the others judging by the pics alone. Gorgeous car nonetheless, and sold new in the metro Detroit area.

I think the BS rear axle code fittingly describes the Tag and stamps!

Well, he did a helluva job on the broach marks and aging everything to make it look authentic. Would have fooled me.

Guy claims that the clock was not redone with a quartz movement, but my understanding was that the quartz movement on the second hand looks smooth (like on this car), and the original movement you can see the hand move in increments with each tic.

Likely being flipped?

It was listed in Hemmings about a month ago by a private owner in Nevada.

So since the consensus here is that this car's stampings, trim tag, etc., are questionable, the sale price seems to indicate that it just doesn't matter anymore. At least the way things are right now. Yes, it is kind of crazy!

OR the sales price indicates that an unsuspecting buyer bought something he thought had legit stampings because thats what he was told by the seller.

This is exactly what I see happening.
