Pretty rare beast, and also has the wide wheels and metallic brakes. Funny to see this car wearing modern radial whitewalls....

Dave and I pulled a 62 big tank Corvette out of a garage a few years back and if not for a decked block, we would have kept it. The body was painted with tank installed. The cut outs on the bulk head were done by hand and as a result, not two cars were cut the same. Tank, hoses and clamps had body color sprayed on them. We should make a thread on the car. This one brings back memories. Cool car!

----My Cousin (three years older) had a beautiful girl friend in 1966 who owned an Almond Beige 62 300/powerglide that was ordered with a big tank. One of the stranger 62's probably ever ordered. Ill never forget seeing that filler neck right thru the gas door!,,,,,Bill S

There are a few guys on the east coast here that made 10 or 12 tank cars and z06s at a minimum. 2 or 3 have been touted as 1 of this and one of that for decades . Everytime i see a big tank car i assume its not real, in part because i know half the cars that were created and the accolades the cars get when at shows . Before i pay 40 times what a tank cost to add to any car i need to see bullet proof docs ,and yes these guys knew every fitting, cutout and details of what made a tank car a tank car.
