This was the very First Lombard Cruise Night since Covid. It was crazy busy.....all the cars came out, it was great seeing old friends and meeting new friends :)
Joe and I brought out Hemi Under Glass and the Prototype Hurst Challenger....it was nice to show the HUG to the Public.
I bet a lot of people went home to watch the Bob Riggle and Jay Leno crash last night :)
But the Star of the Show was Charlie`s Citiation X-11! A 100% low mileage Survivor, I call it the BEST X-11 on the Planet! Charlie I LOVE IT!

Never heard of a Chevy X11. Is it some type of experimental car?

An actual production car by Chevrolet that came out I think in 1980, I had a 1981 X-11 Citation with 4 speed, very fast Hi-Output V6 with a Cowl Induction Hood, It was a front wheel drive car so i drove mine all year round, my first car I got when I was 18 and I drove it to the scrap yard with 260,000 miles.
Lot of memories for me with that car, rear hatch opened and rear seats folded down to fit a single bed I used to camp out with going to SUPER CHEVY shows in the USA back in the 80's with my girl friend.
Here are some retro photos of mine back in the day and I added LUCAS fog lights up front and tinted the windows, those are original tires.
Mine also had a factory Sun Roof and AM/FM Cassette Wonder Bar Radio.

What the heck, you have the HUG car ??? Is the same body Riggles rolled ? He seemed to think it needed a new body, but the damage wasn't that bad.
I watched that vid a long time ago and laughed at Leno with his arm casually out the window. At least he had sense to pull it in when he realized it would get hurt where it was.

Growing up in the early 80s, a freind had a X-11, it was a automatic and remember him pointing to the tach in the dash, and holding it past red line before he would shift it.
I was thinking 'Dude, you are beating the crap out of your newer car (at the time).
Thanks for sharing.

You must not have attended MCACN in 2019....when we had the wrecked right side of HUG hanging from the ceiling of the convention center.
It now proudly hangs in the garage along side the Famous Hemi Under Glass.
If you attend MCACN 2021....come to my afterhours party at the shop you can see it for yourself :)

I don't know how I could have missed that display, as, I was there.
Was it out in the front, where the escalators are ? I didn't look around there.

It was 100 feet from main front entrance....down the steps, immediately to the right.
COULD NOT MISS IT!
But don`t feel bad....we all miss certain displays.....MCACN has a way of doing this to all of us. Sensory OVERLOAD!!!

My dad had a new 1980 Citation with the V6 and that little thing hauled, and that X11 is pretty stinking cool. Those X-Gen 1980's cars are coming on pretty well in the value arena.

I saw the HUG at 2019 MCACN and the huge hanging side of it. You never see Citations anymore. Cool to see some survived.

I think I went left down the steps and worked my way to the back wall. Usually cool race cars back there. I absolutely spaced the car side on the wall somehow... I have pics of the White '62 Impala with the 427 swap by some famous person that was hidden for many years. By your description, I had my back to the wall hanging.

I rocked a used '80 Citation in college, was indestructible. I remember the X-11, had some crazy thoughts back then about making mine look like one but then I bought a '64 GTO from a guy on the South side and drove that instead lol.

My brother had one as well as a winter beater.....in high school though - it was a pink champagne color and we affectionately called it "Rosie". In the winter we would head to empty parking lots and do reverse donuts (front wheel drive) after a fresh snow trying to avoid the parking lot light poles. We beat the tar out of that thing and it always came back for more.
Sorry for the thread hi-jack but lots of fun Citation memories......

WOW!!
I haven't seen or even thought about the Chevy Citation model in decades!
We had a stripped base model in HS Driver's Ed. Circa '82. It had a bench seat and the teacher liked when it was my turn to drive since I was 6-2" my Sophomore year and we'd slide the seat all the way back for leg room. Good times-
