Interesting car, asking $53k Canadian which is around $42k US. Some rust, but pretty solid for a car that has spent its life in Canada. Sold new at Don Howson Chevrolet in Ontario.

Guessing this will be bid to low thirties...but if someone wants it bad enough, $42k may be the number.

Odd that the trim tag was removed...bummer...but not the end of the world.

Personally (and I get it... beauty is in the eye... blah blah blah) my LEAST favorite color on a second gen Camaro, Z or not. Actually had one this color (or close) and couldn't wait to get rid of it.

could be the shortest 4spd shifter I've ever seen

That's funny. Sure is in the eye of the beholder. That's one of my favorite, if not my favorite, on a second gen. I'd love to have this one. Short shifter and all.

Been watching that one up here on kijiji, no mention if the LT1 is original to the car

I spoke to the grandson (quite a bit) who is selling the car for his grandfather.

It was listed originally with a crazy high price of $58,000. It has been for sale for two months with no takers, even with a big price reduction down to $45,000 Canadian which is approx. $36,000 US. This alone makes me VERY skeptical.

I know the engine has been rebuilt a long time ago and with only 22,000 miles on the car, it makes me wonder if it is the original block (maybe decked).

I think it is crazy money for a survivor with less than ideal survivor paint and the fact that the right rear lower quarter behind the door is blowing apart. If you open that area up, you are in for more of a surprise than what you just see in the pics, I am sure. I have pics of the difference in the finish between the hood and the top of the fenders which also make no sense for a survivor car. Something definitely got squirted......the hood.

For me, there are better Z's out there for the same money or less. And if you restore it, you will be upside down the minute you call NPD.

It should be a survivor the way it sits, if you are ok with the car.

Someone painted the aluminum intake? If that is an indication of the rebuild quality I would stay away...

He forgot to scratch out the Vin # on one of the Vintage services letters at the bottom.

The speedo could have rolled over and 122k would still be "original" miles...:rolleyes2:
The solid coating of blisters under the paint indicates poor adhesion and, most likely, a coating of surface rust. With all the other anomalies, it's way over priced.

----That intake is cast iron! I'm not especially educated on 71 Z's but it should be the same as 70, correct???......Bill S

Absolutely, different casting numbers but basically the same intake.

Yes, 72 and earlier Z28's all came with aluminum intakes from the factory. 73 and later had cast iron.

It sure looks like a original 69 442 dual snorkel on it too!
