If you maintain a balance in your Paypal account, there is no fee.
I'm not seeing that at all.
I use paypal for nearly everything bought via the internet and keep a Zero balance in it all the time too.
And only 3 charges if I buy something through eBay,winning price, shipping, tax.

Think fee only incurred when you pay with a credit card .

I just stopped using PayPal also. I bought a set of tires at Jeg’s and the next day Jeg’s told me that they were out of stock, so I requested a refund. PayPal kept their fees, so it cost me almost $75 with exchange for nothing! My credit card would have simply reversed the charge with no fees etc.

My experience is you are charged no PayPal fees if you pay using your PayPal account balance or have your PayPal account hooked to your checking account.

I also never have fee's because I have my bank account connected to my checking account, if you use a credit card, you will be charged a fee.
Another option to use versus PayPal is "VENMO". I do have a VENMO account because some very few people I deal with do not accept PayPal.

I just bought something off ebay a few weeks ago using paypal. I paid the total with my credit card. I didn’t receive any additional fees, only the item price plus shipping & tax. Is this a new change?

It must only be when sending money to an individual, I’ll have to keep my eye on this for future transactions. Now that ebay cut them off they must be desperate for fees.

Did all y'all get the email memo from pay pal a week or so ago that they were changing their agreement terms ? I never read the whole thing, but that must have been the change.
Years ago, I left funds in an account with them and then that seemed to have been removed as an option. Now they want me to register for a new account to do the same thing I used to do. Not going to happen.
I do have my back account as my primary funding source, so that might make a difference.
I try to avoid using pp for much. If buying from an individual, it's gotten so I would rather go to the post office and get a money order and use snail mail again.

You boys gave me a scare.
I just checked my PP account. I had 28 transactions(all online purchases) in June 2021. No fees.
I went to the "fees" page on the PP website and it states "Online and in store purchases, no fee when no currency conversion is involved.".
All my PP purchases go through an AMEX card.

I don't buy or sell to anyone who DOESN'T use Paypal. Definitely the best way to do business online IMO.
Me too..
So this fee we're talking about here is really a paypal Foreign Currency Exchange fee?..Because I just bought 6 things this week,(eBay and Individuals),and don't see any paypal extra fees when paid with my credit cards.
All my buys are Domestic.

I use PP all the time and have for years but my last two transactions were charged a fee when I processed the transaction using friends and family and a credit card and no balance in my PP account.

That has always been the case in my experience if you use a credit card with friends and family.

Nope, I have been using this method for over a year and only the last two transactions were accessed fees. Before that there were none attached.

I have been charged a fee if I send F&F and use a card. No fee when I use my balance to fund a F&F transaction.
