Guys sprayed this console door with the "correct code" interior paint. Picture shows the results. The rest of the console is much darker and appears original. Has anyone run into this? The other picture shows the interior of John Z's interior. Console seems to be the same color as the one I have.
Thanks, Doc.

----It's possible that the console doors were not produced by the same vendor or maybe in a different area of the same plant. I have seen variations similar to this......Bill S

Anyone have a paint code/suggestion for the darker green?
Thanks, Doc.

It looks like a reasonable match to the seat fabric, but as you noted, the main console of both cars appears darker. If that was my car, I'd take the ashtray compartment lid off and get that scanned by the paint mixer for a color match.
What primer did you use?

I used the primer recommended, dark grey in color. Not enough "good" paint on the ashtray door. Still working on it.

The green on the dash is the same green as the console, btw. Painted by the plant.

i believe that your console door is not correct green....in fact it should match exactly to the console it self....

on these color interiors, usually the plastic parts tend to fade and thus do not match together with other painted parts.....i experienced this with my dark green interior on my Z trying to repair an orig green steering wheel and matching the color to the dash or to the other green plastic, like the turn signal knob......ultimately we went with the turn signal knob.

I would pull the console and get a match to the plastic - possible light coat everything.....heck the console door is going to be perfect and the ashtray now is off?

Just some thoughts - there are no absolute correct approaches, depends on what your trying to achieve.

pic of the steering wheel - notice the diff to the dash, steering column and now the turn signal plastic knob.
