These cars were built from '95-'97 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of BFG T/A tires. The project was put together by Jim Mattison (PHS), BFG, SLP, and Pontiac, they built 164 cars over 3 years.
This is build #006, 6sp coupe with 16k miles. The early cars received Wheel2Wheel Ram Air hoods (which this car has), SLP hoods came later in production. Car was ordered with the R1 tire option which included an extra set of wheels with BFG R1 racing tires. I have these and they're still factory wrapped as they were shipped.
I believe this could be the first 6sp car built as cars 1, 2, 4, 5, and 7 are auto's and it is 1 of 26 6sp coupes (no t-tops) of the 164 cars built.

Car runs and drives like a 16k mile car. I have the COMP T/A key fobs, window sticker, build sheet, floor mats, copy of the SLP window sticker, and docs that show mileage through the years.

The picture of the seven cars at the factory was taken by Terry "Zeke" Maxwell (Thanks for the picture!) and would be an early picture of cars being converted. Unfortunately, Terry couldn't confirm that this car is in that picture.

Asking $26k, inspections welcome. Thanks for the ad!

It seems as if the 4th gen F-Body is finally getting noticed as a future, if not one already, collectible.

These Comp T/A cars are definitely one of the more obscure Firebirds of that era.

Surprised these didn't come with the Torsen rear.

Surprised these didn't come with the Torsen rear. This became an option on the '96-'97 Comp T/A's. My '96 doesn't have it...

Nice 4th Gen.. I’m learning more about the 4th Gen. cars and didn’t know about these Firebirds. Did these have the LS1 series engines in them?

All Comp T/A's are LT1's, LS1 started in '98. I've been looking for a '97 LT4 Firehawk for some time, 29 built, Unicorns in the 4th gen world.
4th gens are fun cars rattles and all...lol

Thanks I didn’t know the LS1 was first installed in 98. Your Comp car has great lines with no stripes. The wheel and color combo is perfect.
I know what you mean about the rattles, mine has those also! LOL 😂.

4th gens (I'm a long time 4th gen guy) have definitely come up in value.

I agree!! I love 4th gen camaros/trans am. The most underrated and undervalued collector cars.

One of my employees owns a 1997 30th Anniversary SS M6 Hartop. Not an LT4 car but one of 167 I believe.

Definitely becoming more and more appreciated lately.

These are really cool cars. I remember Ewing Pontiac in Plano, Texas having some of these in stock back in the day. They had one on the showroom in 1997 when I went there to look at one of the last '97 WS6 Trans Ams that they had right when the '98 LS1 cars were hitting lots.
