Anyone have a reference for 1960s blue streak date code breakdown? These are 6.50/6.70-15 Sports Car Special tires with 8-digit codes. Thanks!

Your serial number doesn't decode so it's 1965 or earlier. I have not been able to find a decoder for those early 1960s Goodyear tires.

But . . . the last digit . . . "r" . . . signifies RACING.

Thanks guys! Yes I do own them, not sure what I’m going to do with them just yet. I’m going to wipe the wheels down with Gibbs and see how they look.

The Anghel restorations site used to have a PDF document that had all the GY date coding systems from 1952 until DOT standardization, but it is not online anymore. Luckily I saved a copy!

According to that document, the beginning 9R means March 1962. Does that jibe with any history you have on your tires?

Awesome wheels and tires, Tony. You have a knack for finding great stuff.

Thanks! 1962 may make sense- but to be honest I have zero history on the wheels and tires as they were part of an estate.

Tony, those would look cool on my 70 Astro blue Monte.
