Don't know how it is in the rest of the country, but we have a major issue with local chain pharmacies in our area of New York. It appears that staffing has become a serious problem...the local CVS and Walgreens have really been impacted.

This sign is from a CVS store...of course the employee who wrote this needs some help with grammar and spelling.

Hope other folks are doing better than we are...

My daughter is a pharmacist and the pharmacy manager at Walgreens and she has been working 14 hour shifts because there isn't enough help. She can't keep enough techs working to keep up with that part of it either.

Our CVS pharmacy stopped taking phone calls, closed the drive-thru and the backlog is a nightmare. The Walgreens across the street was closed for 4 days because they had no pharmacist.

Back to CVS...the oldest one in town is a pig pen...the shelves and floors look like one of the 'garage finds' you guys love so much. OK for old cars, but not for a pharmacy dispensing medicine and health products.

It is a real problem...at least in our neck of the woods.

I stopped in my Kroger pharmacy yesterday after work to pick up a prescription. The lady that waited on me looked very tired. My area doesn’t sound like you guys but the lines are longer than in the past.

CVS is not in the best of financial health. They will be closing 900 stores over the next 3 years:

I am not encouraged to see CVS closing so many stores. Interestingly their stock has been on a tear since they announced this news (full disclosure, I am a shareholder).

I think it speaks volumes that the investment community sees “value” in closing brick and mortar stores. Unless we as a nation change our purchasing and working trends, and begin supporting these stores, I don’t see the trend reversing (and it makes me sad).

I have seen fast food places that did have open lobbies, now have them closed. Where are the poeple that used to do these jobs? I am pretty much around farmers all day so I miss the scoop on where these workers went.
Our small town had at least 6 pharmacies. Rite aid closed a nice new building.
I dont mind supporting local places. A lot easier to deal with a problem there than trying to do it over the phone.

My daughter complains all the time about customers who are mean and impatient. She does the best that she can with the amount of help that she has, but some people are just mean. That's all right, today she volunteered to work on her day off and is making $100 an hour. Seems like the money would draw more people into these jobs.

Not meaning to get political but the large pharmacies (walgreens, CVS)are requiring their employees to get vaxx. This is a big part of the worker shortage problem.
