A friend has a '68 Camaro with 4.10 gears and his speedo adaptor spins going in but not coming out. Is there anybody out there that can rebuild these or does somebody have another one available? The ratio is 1: .777 . Thanks.

That one is nearly impossible to find. Once in a while I’ll see a small parts assortment for the SW adapters, but I’ve never seen one for the AC adapters. One thought is to replace the guts with a more common ratio, e.g. 0.833.

Thanks, Tony. Is there a shop that does stuff like replacing the guts?

You could try Speedometer Cables USA. I've bought from them in the past and have been happy. They are located in Denver, Colorado.

They do list a .777 ratio in their long list of adapters. I've always bought complete units from them but maybe if you call they might offer a repair service for your own??

There is/was a shop in Milwaukee that worked on the SW adapters years ago - looks like they are still around, might be worth a call: http://www.speedometersolutions.com/

Charlie, I don't know if that link I put up is working for anyone, I'm not that good at this, but the list I tried to link does have your ratio in it too. It's listed as a "speed up" ratio box.
