Hi Gang, not sure what to make of this - PO recently painted this Chevy engine orange - maybe they were going to try and pass it off as a low horse cast iron manifold? Not sure, anyway, they plugged the front two ports with pipe plugs looks like and ground them off / down... not a great job either.

Stat housing recess area looks good and the surfaces - might be ready to go if this is your sort of thing. No helicoils or repairs that I can see, but I have no idea what the paint's hiding, if anything. As always, as-is.

No date either, unless that "05207" is a date - either way, it's likely OTC.

It looks like an intake that came on the LS-6 XAA part # 366250 engine that was available in the late 80's. If so I would say the casting date is May 20 1987. But that is only my opinion being I had 4 of these engines in my time playing with cars.

Drill out all the plugs, Bead blast it up, soak it overnight in simple green, wash it in water only, let it dry, then take a metal bowl and fill it half way with thinner, spray dull aluminum (Krylon) on top of the thinner, and brush it on the surface. Let it dry over night and it will look like new. You might have to do this more than once. Works great on anything aluminum. Great intake at a fair price IMHO. GLWS.
