Found it!

Those type truck rims have killed a lot of people. They have a sort of snap ring. If it is not set right, Kaboom. There was a warning when a few bolts popped. That's why the dude ran over there. No cage, no good.

wow where did the guy end up.

Had a buddy that worked on those rims when we were in HS and yes it had a cage, but still crazy dangerous

I noticed a shadow appear to the left of the view approx 5 seconds after the explosion (launch) and I believe that was either the launchee and or the tire returning to earth. In any case that is easily several hundreds of feet of travel into the air!!!

I think the guy in the t-shirt saw where the person landed and ran over. Then turned around and ran away from what he saw. The others going to console him may support the theory that he found what was left of the inflator person.
There are hundreds of vids of people in Indian doing crazy dangerous stuff with little to no thought of safety.
I've owned trucks with split rim wheels and done many a repair/replacement of tires with no cage. A person just needs to respect what that wheel can do and take precautions.

As I understand it, a relative of mine had a tire explode at the airport he was working at. Broke his arm and he lost an eye. I have no idea why the tire exploded though do I can't blame it on being over inflated.

Don't let Sherri look at this video until I put my new Michelin tires on the 49 Studebaker dump truck; original Firestone split rims. She keeps saying: "look, one of your friends told me they were nicknamed "widowmaker", right?"

I installed 7 "new" tires 11 years ago (used tires off a 3500HD dually pick up) and they are weather checked pretty bad.

Agree with Mitch. It really isn't that hard to make sure the lock ring is seated properly. I DO at least use criss-crossing heavy duty ratchet straps when inflating.
