Talk about Flares with a capital F....
Interesting car accompanied by a tall tale in the auction description (implying the bodywork was done by GM). Looks like an extreme version of the southern California shop flare jobs that we see from time to time on well preserved midyears. I'd swap out the wheels for Torq Thrusts or 200-S but otherwise a neat machine.
