Cool car - interestingly, the POP for this car is posted on Dale McIntosh's webpage but the seller never mentions it in the auction description.
Lots of pitting on that 12-bolt...not too surprising having been sold new in Delaware. Cool car nonetheless.

Just to be clear and with no offense to anyone running Registries. Just because a car ( may not be case here ) is listed in a Registry…. LS-6 L-78 L-79 …. Whatever the case., this should never be taken as proof said car was Authenticated or Verified and more importantly… viewed in person by an expert who know knows what he/she is looking at.
Sorry for my rant but I’ve just become annoyed at the many cars listed in REGISTRIES based on non expert appraisals. I’ve personally saved several buyers from making a mistake because “ but it’s listed in the XYZ Registry “
That said., Cypress Green is a great color.
Now back to Shelia with a check on the Roads!!

I agree, but is the POP image not convincing?

Not to me. But I’m not buying the car. ;)

I agree with Mike on those Chevelle registries. There is little to no real verification when info is submitted on a car. If there is one real looking piece of paper (whether it is actually real or fake), or a real looking deck stamp pic (whether it is actually real or fake), it gets added. Does a disservice to the real cars ...
With that said, I am confident that the POP in the pic is real. And based on the location listed and the other 65's in the background, this probably is or was Ed Sharretts' car (before pic here: http://l79registry.macswebs.com/1965/photos/ed_misc/sharretts.htm )
If Ed owned it, there can be little doubt it is real. He knows 65 L79's as good or better than anyone, and too well to get stuck with a fake one.
However, I must say with all the high praise of the restoration contained in the auction description, one would think they could have taken time to fill all the pits in the axle and the bottom of the oil pan (22nd pic). Both look like they sat in the mud for years! And where is the silver rear cove paint, and trunk spatter paint? And look at the corrosion on the back half of the console, and the busted lens, and stripped (or tan painted) rear arm rest bases (16th pic). And orange thermostat housing. And worm bypass hose clamps. And what looks like a screwed in / tarred in floor pan patch on passenger front (22nd pic).
All fixable, but who wants to pay concours resto money and then have to redo all of that??
