Love the first generation montes! They have much smoother, cleaner lines. My 70.

As the previous owner of a Nevada Silver 1971 Monte Carlo SS 454 and the current owner of a 1969 Grand Prix SJ I'd say the GP by a nose because of the unique interior and the better ride. But the Monte Carlo was awesome too and I'd love to have another one some day. Below is the link to Bills 69 SJ and a old pic of my Monte BITD.

I like them both, but prefer the Grand Prix's styling, performance and interiors. I like the '69 GP the best of the four years. '71 shown here.

I had a '72 Monte and have lusted for another for 45 yrs, ever since the ex took it.
I have to agree with Grant, if the pic to vote on was a '69 GP, I would not be able to vote...:hmmm:

I think the 71 and 72 Montes looked the best. The Fender skirts on the 70 were not befitting the car and the egg crate grill looked great,

That Monte Carlo is identical to my sister's boyfriend's car when I was growing up. He'd take me with them when they would go to the races at Keystone and as a 11 yo kid, there was nothing in the world cooler than that. So, based on the nostalgia alone, the MC gets my vote.

My father had two 1969 Pontiac Grand Prix cars, one was a Model J and the other was an SJ. The Model SJ had only two big headlights and the Model J was the base model with four small headlights. The Model J had a 400cc engine with an automatic transmission, and the Model SJ had a 428cc engine and a 4-speed automatic or 4-speed transmission.
In late 1969, the 1970 Grand Prix SJ began production with four small headlights. My father often tells me about his 1969 Grand Prix cars. That's why I choose the GP.
