What kind of caster have you guy been able to get from the stock A arms and spindles on a 1st gen car? My 68 has power steering, and I'd like to get more road feel. I have always felt the older GM cars are over assisted and would like to minimize it.

In advance, thanks.

I don't recall the exact number my '67 had with stock parts, but it wasn't much....+1.2 ? The alignment guy at Centerline is old school and could get about as much out of the stuff as was possible and it helped. If you were willing to change out the upper shafts to the Global West offsets, it can be improved on a lot more, up to +3.

Wow, just found the alignment sheets from this in my file from 2010.
Left front camber -.4 ....... Right front -.4
caster +1.5 ................................... +1.9
toe +.2 ......................................... +.2
total toe +.4
thrust angle -.01

You can, also, get pressure reducers for the pump to bring that down for a little slower response and more road feel.
I put one in my '38 for the T-bird power rack, but can't find the invoice for the seller...sorry.

These were my results with stock A arms on a 69 Camaro. I could not get them any better. Chart shows 1996 Camaro because it did not have 69 spec data pre-installed. I was trying to get as much positive Caster as possible. I run BF Goodrich TA's.

Caster:
3.6 deg drivers side
4.1 deg passenger side

Camber:
-0.6 deg drivers side
-0.3 deg passenger side

Total Toe:
0.10 deg
