Neat car - I've seen a number of second-gen F-cars retrofitted with the Nash/Richmond 5-speed trans. I think this would be one heck of a cool driver if the bidding doesn't get too out of hand; currently it's at $10k and change, with 8 days left to go on the auction, no reserve. Wondering why the hood seems to fit so poorly....

----A start on the hood fitment would be to grease the hood hinges as they hang up when they become rusty where there are connections, and simply push the back of the hood down.....Bill S

Hinges were painted on the car too and may have a coating at the pivot points, causing binding.
Or they are just worn out and sloppy, as many of these are from holding up that huge hood. If so, they need to go see Willy and get rebuilt.

The fibreglass Formula hoods tend to bow in the middle, in front of the hood hinge area. A lot of it is due to the long strip of reinforcing metal that runs the length of the bracing from back to front. Instead of preventing the bend, it turns into a lever and acts as a bending force after a while. Once you get a bend in it, it continues to multiply the bending force and after a few years the hood looks like what's on this car.

I can't believe someone paid 18k for that POS.

Brings to mind a couple old quotes...
"There's a sucker born every minute".
"A fool and his money are soon parted".
Unfortunately, I've been both at times with an item I REALLY wanted...
