At least the seller comes clean right away and admits he's flipping it - but it's lame to call this a 'one owner' car at this point.
Worth the $79,500 buy-it-now price? Maybe if it were a higher horse engine, but the '64s always seem to lag other C2s in value.

---- 64 double black! Those are leather seat covers and the car came with leather. I can't imagine even a really well taken care of 64 with leather, and 50 some thou miles seats and no significant creasing. As well its a Florida car and has had to put up with all the sun down there. Nice car but IMO seat covers have been replaced.
....Amendments are necessary. Wrong radiator and no plug shielding. I do have to say that there are several really nice things about the car as well...Bill S

Thanks for posting this Tony, and great to have your observations Bill.
Black cars just seem to follow me… or vice versa? Anyway, this one perks my interest. If anyone has additional observations (good or bad) I’d be interested in hearing them.

----Just noticed. Wonder why there are missing bolts on both the rear bumper and the rear lower valence?....Bill S

Bill is right about the seat covers. My white 63 coupe has saddle leather and only 13K original miles. The interior is one of the best originals I have ever seen, but the leather is petrified and creased/cracked everywhere. Tough decision, but the seat covers are getting replaced this year because I cannot stand looking at it anymore (there is a difference between "patina" and just "worn-out").

----Helmut,,,You probably noticed the tail light housings. You will need a set! The whole guage cluster needs to be removed and restored. The fuel guage glass is cracked. Can't see anything else with the cluster. Wonder if the odometer still works. For those not Corvette initiated, odo's regularly break and because of the work involved rarely fix that, probably, back in the day, thinking "why add miles"....Bill S

While the rear is being critiqued, the tailpipes need to extend further out.
I have a soft spot for the under-appreciated '64 Vettes and I'm happy that this one retains it's controversial hub caps. Loose the white letter radial tires!!
With some TLC this could be a sweet driver. - Bill W

I don’t really mind the taillights, and they’re an easy fix. I did notice the dash cluster looks really beat up, especially the steering column. How does that happen in an otherwise well preserved car? The fact that the car is in Florida scares me a little. Some of the dash lenses have water spots for whatever reason? If that’s just normal wear and tear, I really like the car. I would put some miles on it and make those seats look well worn ;-]

I went and looked at this car today.
The paint is not original. Very cheap respray, overspray everywhere and wavy. Birdcage is rusted under the rear door Jambs. Did not have to look hard to see it. Car has been in heavy salty air environment for sure. Headlights are rusted open on the balls. Headlight wiring connectors had rusted corroded off the connector from the motor. Frame looked ok. Newer Carter carb maybe rebuilt. Radiator not original shroud rattle canned.
I looked for 15 minutes and left.

Lawrence, thanks for your detailed observations. This prevented a lot of people wasting their time on this car.
