Great video of Eddie Martin racing his Zl1 against a Motion Corvette at the Supercar Reunion. I believe prior to 2010. My guess is 2004 or 2006.

That’s a great episode, I’m watching it too :D It’s the same 73 Corvette used in Cleopatra Jones, must be a studio car. What’s funny is that if you watch the entire chase scene and listen closely, they are using the sound clips from the Bullitt chase scene, and Simon Oakland is also in this episode.

And again with the Bullitt chase sound clips:

Never seen that movie, but will! So many repeating sound bites with wheel hop chatter, but no wheel hop. Bullitt gold!!

That's interesting on the Bullitt sound clip being re-used. There is another example of the movie studios using this trick. Everybody on here has viewed the drag race scene in American Graffiti dozens of times if not more. The sound of Falfa's black '55 was recycled in the movie "Thunderbolt & Lightfoot. There is that distinct sound of that Tunnel-rammed 454 coming alive and getting into the upper power curve that is chilling to any car guy. That '55 just blew the tires off and let the much lighter '32 Ford get out in front, but look out when that Chevy hooks up and Revs to the moon.
Anyways, that clip was used in T&L when Clint Eastwood and Jeff Bridge's characters were picked up on the road by a maniac in that black Plymouth Fury which was comically jacked up in the rear. Watch that scene, and when they accelerate away from a dead stop, it's pure '55 Chevy thunder from American Graffiti! My wife thought I was nuts when I told here that years ago and had to play clips back to back to prove it to her. :) Good Times...

I recently hooked up an old plasma tv in my garage to a even older DVD player and I like to watch "American Graffiti" and "Talladega Nights" when I am out there
Any other recommendations for "car" movies I should get?

Some other movies to track down would be:
Rebel of the Road (drag races filmed at Fremont Raceway- very cool)
Born to Run- hard to find but pretty good street-racing action.
Stingray- low budget "B" car chase film from '78 or '79. two guys in '64 Stingray chased by drug smugglers- good fun.
"Via Knievel"- ok, not really a car-guy film but great campy laughs and some decent jumps
Corvette Summer-
You could have a real film festival out in your garage!

Cannonball (1976 original w/ david Carradine)
Hot Rod (1979 Munn Root Beer Nationals with the Willys) not Andy Samburg

“Rebel of the Road” and “Hot Rod” (non Samburg) are the same movie, remarketed. https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0079307/
Crazy stuff, I was sampling craigslist on the laptop when I went back to my favorite movie memory.....two lane blacktop and the goat....not more than 30 seconds later the movie car was featured in the Rockford episode that was in front of me. Just had to chalk it up to "a bunch of stuff that happens".

All those are great but the best in my opinion too is Hot Rod from the 70s was a made for TV movie originally. There’s a spot online you can watch it for free.
King of the mountain is a cool movie the crash in it is almost exactly what happened to Paul walker sadly.
If you want to watch HOTROD here’s a link to it free.
