Absolutely NO information provided, but if this is the original color combo (Citrus Green / Black VT / Saddle interior) it's the first one I've ever seen.

To me that looks too light for Saddle. I'm thinking Sandlewood Custom interior which would be TR 730 on the TT albeit no picture of TT in listing and crappy picture. Also looks like no gas pedal, but has the correct Z-28 only floor mount shown.

Looks fairly original, seems owner was very concerned about Oil Pressure...

I like this car, based on the pics provided...just seems to have an honest vibe about it....difficult to read TT, but looks like 05A build?

Doesn't look like any effort was made to clean it up or fluff it. LOOKS pretty unmolested. Would be nice if any info was provided. If one were in the market, would be worth a close personal inspection.

Trying to figure out why the pic of the Hydac pump/controller is included. I can see a Febi style accumulator in the background on that pic. Looks like something on a farm implement. Is this something similar to an Accusump?

Probably a mistake Lynn; a photo that was in with a bunch of his Z photos.

Steve I think it is 05A. I asked about the gas pedal as well and no answer. I believe the seller posted the car in a Facebook group and had video of it running

I was a little concerned with the lack of info and pictures are not great

That's what I thought too. But then I read Sully's comment: "seems owner was very concerned about Oil Pressure..." and thought maybe this was the German version of an Accusump set up.

I contacted the owner regarding more details and this is all he sent me "1970 RS Z /28. Correct engine & rear. Original interior, paint & vinyl roof".

I asked for a engine pad, tranny and rear end stamping and I have heard nothing. Kind of scares me.....a lot.

I think when we ask what may be an unsophisticated classic car owner the important questions to identify the nature and originality of their car it can create confusion and suspicion on their part. Especially in the age of the internet. As if to reveal that information would allow us too much information on their prize possesion and for what purpose. OR, maybe he's just old and lazy (like me)!

i asked about stamps and he replied he contacted the appraiser and said it was ok to call that person. but never said who it was. I am not super interested but might have been if it wasnt a mystery

Billohio messaged me the seller posted more pics on Facebook...75+ pics here:

https://www.facebook.com/groups/121299974621077/?multi_permalinks=5806484239435927&ref=share

Block cast date is April 6, 1970 and the stamp appears to be V0416CTB...but it's a poor pic. Appears it was converted to power steering as there's a pic of a manual box in the pic library. Also looks like a replacement transmission, but at least it's a Muncie. Looks to retain a lot of original parts including alternator, radiator, etc, but might be worth checking out if someone is seriously interested.

Just looked at those pictures. Looks like a great car. Not sure it’s a $50k car, but it’s one of the more original unrestored ‘70 RS/Zs I’ve seen in some time.

Strange group of pictures in new eBay ad. Mostly tires and wheels!

I contacted him when he had it listed on Facebook marketplace before eBay. I asked for all the same information and he sent terrible photos that were very blurry. said it had very low miles. my response was how many? He said he did not remember!!

Guys would the standard rear end in this car be a 3.73?

Big Block Bill
01-27-2023, 07:31 PM
Yes' I believe the 3:73 was standard with the 4:10 optional. 1970 was the only year for a 12 both differential in the 1970.5 to 1973 Z-28 as well.

Both of the Ebay ads linked in this thread are still live.

One has a $45k starting bid and the other has a $40k starting bid.

That the first time I've seen two auctions, live, for the same car.

Just have to laugh at the last ebay link.

There is not even a pic of the car itself......it appears he is selling just the wheels and the tires. Wow......lol.

First auction shows ended now.

I have seen multiple auctions for the same car a few times. Always been a dealer before. Maybe the right hand doesn't know what the left is doing.

As others have noted, might be worth the money. Poor guy just needs some help presenting it.
