Holly, Benny and I took a day drive to the Grand Canyon, while his two friends Al and John returned to Barrett-Jackson.
There was a lot of snow up at the canyon, up to 2 feet in some places...and the Grand Canyon never disappoints ! The air temp was a cool 39 degrees F.
Enjoy the pics

Chilly time of year for a Grand Canyon trip! Beautiful pics.
I remember taking my college girlfriend to Bryce Canyon in February...definitely some serious winter weather at that time of year!

As beautiful as the pictures are, it's just one of those places that can't be fully appreciated without being there in person. Hope you all had a good time there!

Bill, you are welcome. We had a great time there. We also saw....but I didn't take pictures of a Lamborghini Aventador that looked like this, driving around in the snow at the Grand Canyon....LOL

I try not to get too close to the edge (I don't like heights) but I almost lost my camera as I slipped on the snow :eek2:
Luckily I had the camera strap wrapped around my hand....

Beautiful photos! Tough to capture the size and majesty but you did a good job.
It's fun being a tourist in your home state :)
We used to love that when we lived out there. We'd take day trips nearly every weekend.
I remember one occasion when we took the kids sledding in Flagstaff and then drove home to Mesa and they swam in the (outdoor) pool that same day.

Keith, I didn't realize that you lived in Mesa at one point! You are right though (and Benny and I talked about this) Most people think of Arizona as a desert only...In actuality only a small portion of the state is a desert.
We can be in Payson or Prescott in less than an hour and a half-and during the winter both usually get a good amount of snow. We also have friends who have additional residences in those areas-which can make for a nice 3 day weekend.
We are heading for Las Vegas soon-and my sister just sent video of it snow at her house in Henderson, NV

Yes - I used to winter there (doing brake development and ride/handling work) which led to us living there from 1990 - 1994.
I came back here for my first design/release experience which was on the GMT800 pickups.

My buddy has a place in Pine. I was there in January one year and they had more snow then we did in Mi. Most people do not associate AZ w/ snow.
