I haven't been here for a long, long time. I don't know how long this will stay up. Anyway, here's something I just finished...Plain Jane:
13,800 original mile 1970 Nova
70-80% original paint
Original interior (except carpet)
565 cid BBC (4.6 bore X 4.25 stroke)
Dart block, Brodix heads, Molnar crank/rods, Mahle pistons, Bullet roller camshaft, Jesel lifters, Jesel shaft rockers, Brodix intake, Holley HP carb, Stef's oil pan, etc.
ATI manual valve body TH400
ATI Treemaster torque converter
Precision Performance shifter
Autometer gauges
Mark Williams 7075 driveshaft
Mark Williams 12 bolt
etc., etc., etc.....L-O-L

Stick car at one time?
Yes! I have a complete stick shift setup for it (scattershield, Rod end linkage, Tilton clutch, etc), but several transmission manufacturers were nervous about it. One even laughed and said they wouldn’t sell me a transmission😅. Only real options are a Jerico or G-Force. They’re semi streetable so that’s why I chose the Hydramatic.

If I can figure out how to do it, I’ll post a video. The one I have is of the initial fire up, with zero tuning. But it is still really crisp on the throttle.
With that said…it will probably scare women and small children🥴

Nice build, I like it. TH400 a much better trans for a street machine such as you’ve got. Post that video I’d like to hear the motor. 👍

Be fun to find a set of clear valve covers. Those shaft rockers must look like a work of art by themselves.
Rather certain the engine will scare more than women and kids. Might encourage the "other brands" to find a place at the curb...

Killer, nice to see a big block radiator upper mount and shroud,
not many cars built correctly like this, really nice.

Some pretty nice results. IF you wanted a "standard" trans the LSC5100 is easily up to the task of handling the power this engine make.
WE have wondered about that intake for "the-next-step" up on our dual-plane intake engines. Not sure it would be worth much on my 800+Hp ZL1, but on a big engine it could be worth some.

You need to bring that to SCR in July!

Thanks for the compliment! There are many cool things hidden inside...Aside from the Jesel rocker system (steel rockers too), it has custom Trend double taper pushrods (3/8-7/16-3/8-inch), PAC valve springs, 10-degree titanium retainers, Jesel .904 (Hemi size) roller lifters, all ARP fasteners and so on. Actually, the toughest part of the entire process was trying to keep it looking closer to stock... :) Here's a pic of the engine while I was working on it:

I don't how much fun it is yet...it was -28 yesterday and the wind was howling! I recently moved back to the Canadian prairies from the west coast, so there won't be any road tests for a bit ...:)

That will be an insane bucket of fun, can't wait to hear it as well.
Any dyno time on it? Or is that "top secret"?

Thank you. Using small block frame & motor mounts + 6 cylinder or small block rad supports are some of my pet peeves… :)
The rad is a Dewitt’s aluminum job. Looks stock at first glance. Fabulous quality.

Thank you for the compliment. No dyno time because life got in the way…we moved half way across the country, so that was part of it. I suspect it will peel out pretty good though..😅

Hi folks...
Here's a link to a short little video of Plain Jane's first fire up...Keep in mind, this is right out of the gate, with zero tuning (floats are too high, idle is a bit high, timing hasn't been set or checked). Hope you dig it!

FYI I have three sets of mufflers for my Nova (all Hooker). I installed the quietest ones.
What surprised me though is how mild the Bullet roller cam seems. I’ve had L88’s idle worse. Believe it or not, the camshaft lift (for example) is well over .750”. Big props to my pal Chris at Bullet for getting it so right. It has 10+ inches of manifold vacuum too (“smallish” carb has something to do with that..I’m pretty sure). That should give it some really nice driving manners

"I suspect it will peel out pretty good though..😅"
That's an understatement. You might want to put another set of rear tires on order.....
When it warms up and the 12 feet of snow melts, would love to hear it just idle.
Great looking piece, you should be proud.

Thanks! I dig the sound too, although the muffler choice was like throwing darts at a board..L-O-L. And thanks for the comps on the head video. I really (Really) like the entire BB3 X-tra lineup from Brodix. Their "oval" port example is also very sweet (I've used them before). Great folks too.

Love the video, too. Glad to see you are all settled in at your new place. You and your wife have been working your rears off....
