Sweet color combo, and the Brothers Collection provenance is a nice perk.

I sold my 1972 Blazer Highlander through Park Place when I was moving out of Washington last year. I cannot say enough good things about them. Chris Lowell is a real car guy and handled my consignment. They don’t just throw anything in their showroom. They even replaced the one of the dome lamp bulbs on my top during the mechanical inspection portion.

Park Place is a well run operation and Chris Lowell is a great guy to work with. I bought my last 1969 RS Z28 from him years ago when he was still a salesperson there. He hires me periodically to inspect the musclecars that are taken in at the shop to verify what they’re representing. I spent several hours looking at this car and Chris has my report there with photos of date codes on drivetrain components and other notes. It’s a very nice older restoration that is holding up well overall.

Tom did you see anything tying it to the Brother's Collection ?

No I didn’t really see anything in the files I looked at linking it to the Brothers Collection. I took the story with a grain of salt. It’s a very decent car but if they did own it ever, it seems like something they would have likely bought before they got super serious about their collection. I almost reached out to you to see if you could shed any light on that part of the consignor’s story.

One of them said it's nothing they ever owned.

Most interesting thing to me about the car is that it is a non-Mach 1 Sportsroof that was actually originally ordered the way collectors want to see them now, i.e. with Shaker, decklid spoiler, and rear window louvers. Most of the basic Sportsroof CJ cars are true strippers that were ordered without any extra options to go racing immediately.

Car just sold on BaT for $98k + BaT’s buyer fee. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1970-ford-mustang-111/ . Shortly after a freshly restored black one popped up on BaT, already at $115k https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1970-ford-mustang-110/

Due to rarity, I would figure that would easily sell for more than the "standard" 70 Mach SCJ's out there that seem to be plentiful lately. But, as they say, rare doesn't always equal $$...

I'd really like to meet the person who ordered that black one on BAT back in the day. They are my people. What a damn awesome car.
