Charley’s buying everything this year, and 16 years of patience is apparently paying off.

These old school builds are the best. Every time I see one it reminds me how dumb I was to sell the cars I could have to turned into these. There is still time!

Congratulations to both Charley and Sam. This is definitely a special 69 Chevelle.

I was doing a burnout just trying to get it on the lift as it's wet outside and the tires are not liking my smooth floor.

Cool car. Tim what happened to the low mile 69 I sold you a gazillion years ago ?

This Chevelle is the epitome of a late 60's hot street car....decades before the term "Day 2" was phrased. The detailed use of vintage speed parts is phenomenal :worship: :Can-I-Have-It:

What in the H*LL!!! I have a police report in on this. How did YOU get my Chebby all the way out there to California without my knowledge. Your good LILLARD, I’ll give you that. Now, let’s negotiate. I’ll take that little old blue SB Nova sittin’ in your garage and we’ll call it even. What say?

Charley, that car is still in Austin. It was spectacular, 9,800 miles if I remember correctly. That was about 1995 or so.

It didn’t happen unless there’s a video. Lol. I bet those slicks don’t like smooth pavement.

hard to even think of how to describe how cool this car is. It looks perfect in its drag race form compared to stock. Colors do matter. I bet black ones had to be rare in production numbers.

Those poor tires. What an awesome example of period correct L78 power.

2.20 x 3.73 + tall tires = large bog.

Good point. OO ran 4.88 gears which was good for 6200 rpm thru the traps back in the day on 29.5” M&H slicks (as are on the car now). However, this carb is bogging which is a new event and is being remedied.

The Super Scavengers of course negate the use of that pesky back up linkage!! :burnout:

Loosened the tach clamp and rotated the steering column collar to turn the backup lamps off. Dug thru all my crap looking for a stiffer vacumn secondary spring for the carb. Found two in a parts bin but the one that was stiffer didn't make much of a difference. I've ordered more from Summit but I can see in my mind a package of them I have seen a million times here but damned if I can find them.

Double check initial timing and total mechanical advance...it needs to work in synch with the carb. All in by 3,000...

Somewhere I have a set of carb gears to help those secondaries :rolleyes2:

Very cool ride :beers:
