1963 Dealership Search

Good Morning Guys,

Anyone out there know what dealership this may have been? May have been in the Harrisburg, PA vicinity back in '63? Trying to help with a '63 Corvette search.

ZONE 49 DEALER 395

Any help would be great!

Unless he appears here first, check in w/ Member fsc66 as his Chevrolet Dealer Database is more extensive than that of NCRS or others also he’s a great guy always willing to help.
If no luck also it’s never foolproof but comparing other known codes, the Dealer name likely begins w/ letters M through R.
Best of luck also love to hear more on the subject car!

NCRS has Stocker as 49-576 which makes sense starting w/ S.
Is this correct also anything known for McClellan or Rupert?:hmmm:

Rupert is 696 but the dealer we are looking for most likely is between MOR-MOY

13-547 have them in Rural Valley, also see older listing for Yatesboro. Checked and they are 2 minutes apart so zone would not change even if dealer code jumped a notch

Cars from there exist so # likely known but what Dealer # was Monaghan/Uniontown?

Thanks again for sharing your info and time, so awesome you have these Dealer #’s other groups simply don’t.
We’re running out of possibilities so unless something better shows up, it may be worth looking deeper at #396 EW Moyer in Orwigsburg in case they also used #395 like some dealers who operated w/ two or more consecutive #’s?:dunno:
If anything more known of Subject ‘63, we can give searching old ads a whirl…Coupe/Roadster/Color/Engine/Trans?

Agreed, many dealers did have more than 1 dealer code. Not looking up any more dealers at this point, too busy

Just another word of advice. The name of the dealer may start with the letters: MOR-MOY, however, that can also be the last name of the owner. Therefore as an example: we can have Morrison Chevrolet or Robert Morrison Chevrolet or even Morrison Motors that would still fit within the dealer codes.
So don’t limit your thought process to MOR-MOY Chevrolet only

Best case conclusion, EW Moyer Orwigsburg the closest fit unless deeper digging provides info otherwise.

Back to the OP, please share more Subject details as it’s often surprising what searching old ads sometimes yields?
If anything known of where it lived/when it may’ve been advertised by past owners, please include.
