Beautiful car - I believe this is owned by a member.

Sounds like there is some question as to whether the block is original, because the block in this car has the VIN stamped on the pad.

I was under the impression that sandlewood cars received a sandlewood dash and not black like this car. Seems like a decent cruiser that you wouldn't be worried about driving. These cars are really starting to get up there in price.

Sorry I didn’t and honestly wouldn’t even know what I’m looking at and that’s why I asked. Thanks

Look at the picture with the trunk open. You can see how the new quarter was installed.

The seller did post detailed pics which is very helpful. BTW I love that color.

Ouch...that hurts to look at it!

Yeah, even I do better work that that.

They did nothing to attempt to blend it at all. It reminds me of the early "restoration" parts that fit over the original and just welded on like this.
I agree on the color though, that is beautiful.

Looks like they were trying to retain the 1970-only square impression in the jamb under the door striker by attaching a re-pop quarter shell TO it. You need a person who knows their way around a TIG welder to attempt something like that. Not a good look.

That’s what I was thinking as well! My body guy knows what a nut I am, and hammer and dollied the AMD quarters to the original square indent! I slept well that night!

Not sure I buy that explanation since the passenger side has the later "banana" indent and the car is way too early for that to be original. In other words, why save one square indent and not the other? Not sure why the passenger side would receive a full quarter and the driver side just a skin...and a poorly installed one at that!

How in the heck are these folks pricing these cars? Thanks Steve for those pictures, that should tell story. Needs the Golden Plunger Award.

If it is truly a banana indent pass. quarter then it is just lazy/short-cut taking, on the driver's side. Figures. If you cared enough to save the proper indent in the door jamb, you would care enough to install the quarter without those ugly welds. Such a beautiful car, too bad.

Very surprised they didn't try to clean up those welds.
