I was fortunate enough to work with Duncan on this book. It was great putting this book together and reaching out to some of the folks who ran these dealerships and their family members. Getting to know the Perkl's (White Bear Dodge), Knafel's (Knafel Pontiac) and Di Bari's (Melrose Motors) was especially rewarding.
We had first hand assistance from Mr. Norm, Val Harrell, Nancy Gibb, Robert Yeakel and a host of experts that proofread everything that went into the book. The results speak for themselves.
Order directly from the publisher so the author receives the most compensation (royalties). Enjoy the book.

If
You ever do an update you should do some other Pontiac dealerships. The knafel/ royal thing is beat to death other Pontiac dealerships had fielded amazing race programs yet get little to no publicity.
Stephen Pontiac Bristol, towne Pontiac Manitoba, garber Pontiac in Michigan and many others. Why these same dealers keep getting published over and over is beyond me when there’s some really great unheard material out there .

Nothing wrong w those knafel and royal dealerships but most Pontiac guys are familiar w them . Stephens had an article written about them in 72 that caused a real blowout at GM oarts were taken back , racing programs cancelled. People quit, threw their stuff in their truck and drove off . It’s a crazy story all kinda funny now but at the time was a real Sh$t show

I learned quite a bit reading about Knafel. Yes, any diehard fan will know some of these dealerships quite well but for generalist muscle car fans most of these dealerships will be new to them. Do you have the book and have read the section on Knafel?

O I haven’t bought the book yet, but I’ve read so much on knafel through the years it not so much that I dint like knafel or Royal they are both great it’s just there’s other material out there that’s pristine and untouched .

I’m sure it’s a good book but if you want Pontiac guys to BUY based on a name those two don’t do it anymore most want new stories. I realize it takes work to dig up info but it’s a better selling point in my opinion

That Wells Pontiac Firebird posted above is an original RAII car. It resides not too far from where I live. Great guy owns it, and has researched it well. Factory built without seam sealer or sound deadener.
