I am trying to figure out what these two jack bases are for. The only markings I see are a U on both. The holes for the jack are different. One has 2 round holes in it. The other has none. Any info will be appreciated.
Thank you, James

GM used several different Jack suppliers through the large 60’s and 70’s. I just did some research to get a correct Jack for my 68 Z28, Los car with a 4-68 build. Cars assembled at the Los plant mostly got square shaft jacks made by Walker Manufacturing. Norwood cars got trapezoid shafts like the one your base has. There is a third shaft, a cast iron with a T shaped shaft. I believe the U stands for Universal Manufacturing. The bases could be used accross all car lines with the length and hook being the difference.

Thank you for the info. I looked on eBay for bases like these but that wasn't much help.

The hole where the jack sets in looks bigger on the one than the other. The bigger hole is for the full size GM cars 1970 and later. The small hole would be for the intermediate GM cars 1970 and later.

I dont think I have ever seen a T shaped shaft in any year Camaro from the factory.

Square for 67-69 Van Nuys and Trapezoid for all other Camaros thru 81.
