Looks like it was made recently but I am no expert.

Seems to be missing some digits in the LOS body number. Mine was made 1 month before and has 5 digits. The "rivets" also appear to be stamped into the plate to simulate a rivet. It looks like the grain of the plate continues into the rivet "head" to me, but I've been dead wrong before.
Here's my LOS trim tag.

I am pretty good on the 69 tags. 67... not so much.

Would like to hear from KurtS or Jonesy on this one.

A few observations:

The V108 is misaligned should be even with 03C
Body number 1705 looks to be missing a digit as already stated
Body number has an extra space after dash and before 1705

The font impression of the suspect tag is not as sharp and defined as both the authentic tags and the body number, even with 1 digit missing can't be lower on an 03C car than my 02C built car. The 04C is at 190XX and my 02C number is 170XX, which should put the body number on the suspect tag in the 180XX range. As a buyer, I would conclude that tag is a fake.

The 02C and 04C are both deluxe coupes. The 03C is a deluxe convertible. Their body numbers are not comparable.

Care to explain that a little further ? After reading the CRG explanation again, it doesn't make sense.

Other LOS custom interior (12667) converts made during this time frame have 4 digit body numbers. LOS used different body number sequences for coupes and converts, both standard and custom interior. Not many Custom interior converts made so thats why the lower body number later in the year.
Look at any Van Nuys 12667 tag and all the body numbers are low.
The V108 is shifted down, but the whole tag is shifted like it wasnt in the holder straight. I think the tag is good.

Heres a 12667 (Pace Car) tag

There are four styles for trim tags:

Base coupe and Deluxe coupe
Base convertible and Deluxe convertible

Each of the four tags had it's own body sequence number starting at 1. So as Jonesy said, if they didn't build many of one type those would have lower numerical body number counts (totals).

If four of the same body style were built consecutively, they would have sequential body numbers. Otherwise the numbers have no relationship to each other across the different body types.
