When I see Real Deal in the add, proceed with caution....Got a call back and asked for drive-line pics and other info, never heard back from seller again...

I'm very close if anyone needs eyes on it. Looks like a pre x code style tag.

Is that what they call the Vinyl roof rear stripes applied to early cars?
.i.e. 5/8" off the trim

Shouldnt the vin be on the deck or did some early cars get it by the filter

My thoughts too... my 10D/'68 built '69 Z28 has VIN on pad.

I lived in Floral Park for the first 65 years of my life, and I have never seen this car before! p.s. I know exactly where the pics were taken. Right around the block from my old house.

From the CRG site regarding timing of where the VIN stamp was located.
Generally, the Norwood plant stamped the VIN on the engine pad on early cars (though there are known exceptions) and moved the stamp by the oil filter in the mid-December 68 timeframe. Los Angeles was not as consistent and the VIN stamp location varied during the year.
To me looks like a decent car.

I compared this pad to mine... I'm 10/18 DZ stamp and this car is 10/28 stamp. It is a perfect match in many ways. Because of counterfeit efforts, I am not going to post these reasons publicly. Assuming the VIN down by the oil filter is authentic, I have no issue calling the engine in the dusk blue authentic.

How hard is it to line the numbers up in line with the block VIN stamp? GEEZ.. Where is the 5 and 6 at end of VIN? Danny
