This is a real deal original tire for 1968-1969 Camaro Z28 models. I bought this from a long time collector who removed this tire from the spare on a 1968 Z28 in the 80's. It has been in cool, dry storage ever since.
I posted this tire up on Ebay starting at $9.99 with NO RESERVE. I am offering free shipping to paid members in the Continental US. I will also offer $40 off shipping paid members outside the Continental US. If you are a paid member and win the auction, please send me a PM through this site and I will send a revised invoice through Ebay.
Here is a link to the auction:

Very cool piece. Note that the date on a Goodyear in the 1967-1968 timeframe is in the YE part of the code (not the 01427 part). Y=1967, E=November
GLWA !

Thanks Jeff,
That actually makes a lot more sense. Is there a website I decide these Goodyear dates? I have a few others of different sizes I need to decode.

The Anghel summary is great and very comprehensive, but it is also a little bit confusing where it sticks the discussion of the two different BURLEY-CAMINO formats and the TUFSYN-PACKER format together.
For the years that I primarily care about, here's the simplified version:
1961-1965
First digit (Year)
3 or 5 = 61
7 or 9 = 62
4 or 6 = 63
1 or 2 = 64
8 or 0 = 65
Second digit (Month)
B = Jan
U = Feb
R = Mar
L = Apr
E = May
Y = Jun
C = Jul
A = Aug
M = Sep
I = Oct
N = Nov
O = Dec
1966-1972 (with understanding that some 1970 and later tires used the later systems on page 6 or page 7 of the Anghel summary)
First digit (Year)
M or Z = 66
K or Y = 67
L or T = 68
J or U = 69
E or W = 70
H or X = 71
G or S = 72
Second digit (Month)
T = Jan
U = Feb
F = Mar
S = Apr
Y = May
N = Jun
P = Jul
A = Aug
C = Sep
K = Oct
E = Nov
R = Dec
Now I wish someone could figure out Firestone's pre-DOT date coding! Several years ago I even called Firestone and spoke to their "company historian", but she had no clue what I was even asking about!
