Way cool also VERY fortunate to have the Joel letter w/ this car.
Not that it matters much but interestingly enough, the ‘72 Vin indicates it was originally a SB 307 car.

Dam…I believe this is the car out of North Jersey that I could have bought for $5500. ( should have bought). The car I looked at had T-tops also. Guy had Motion invoice for 10k spent there. Why do I remember flares and turbine wheels though? Maybe I am confusing different cars. Any interior pics? I remember a wierd steering wheel also.
One that got away *
Sweet car now !

T tops? I thought this was Scott McKendry's car at first, but his doesn't have T tops.

Looks like all the work Motion performed was done in 1976 (based on dates on the Motion invoices), so that would explain how/why it started out as a 307 car.
And reorient that front license plate so that it's up where it's supposed to be, instead of posing as an alternate front spoiler.

It has to be the same car because fender flares and special wheels are also listed on the invoice. Any pics of the car when it was for sale @ $5,500? How long ago was that?

I did not see the invoice posted, 🤷*♂️. but definitely same car. No pics from back then though. Car was advertised in the North Jersey Want Ad press. I drove over an hour to look at it the first day it was advertised.
From what I remember. Car had some small primer spots on it but overall very good condition . It had atleast one fender flare that was cracked. To me the flares were hideous and way too large. Especially in the front. The turbine wheels belonged on a van. I remember aftermarket steering wheel with GM? center button. Had typical motion valve covers with the large cutoff motion emblems. 10 bolt rear ( I was bummed not a 12-bolt).
Although now I realize the T-tops are part of the history of the car, the killer for me was the T-tops that were installed prior to Motion touching the car. I figured I had to reroof the car. May have a few details incorrect.. been a while, but a day I’ll never forget seeing a real motionized Camaro !
I called the next day after looking at the car and offered $3500 and the seller said he had an offer of $3500 for just the motor. He said he was pretty firm on the price. I had just bought my zL-1 so I was dead broke.. early 90’s. I called back a week later to pay the full price, but it was sold. Never saw it since then, until now.
Something pretty cool was that he had stencils for the stripes from motion for when he repainted the car.?
A few years ago I spoke to another member here who also looked at the car prior to it’s sale. He may remember more also.

Pretty unique car, hoping someone can come up with the before pics! I’ve attached pics of the invoices showing the flares & wheels.

Sold for 70k.. even though a 307 car, I still think t-tops held it back.
