Hi,
I don't see it on the list I have but curious if anyone else has a different answer.

Have 9H6, 9H22, 9H25. No 9H17.

Without seeing pictures of the 9H8, 9H17, 9H22 I'd be very cautious. Unfortunately the other 2 dates have been published so without having someone with experience look at it first is always a risk.

Curious if the Sunday date (August 17th, 1969 was a Sunday) would be a red flag. Were many parts made on Sundays?

Yes instant red flag. The first research I did showed 8/17/69 was Thursday not Sunday. Here is a pic.

You sure thats not a 9F17??? Thats what it looks like to me and that would be a good date.

Good catch Jonesy. Also the original stamping can become unrecognizable/change due to screwdriver gouges/marks when used as leverage to tighten the belt.

It’s a light stamp and I don’t have the car at my disposal yet. Will post more info after I get her home. Thanks
